2013

FULL RULES – 2012 - If the NNF1 rules hurt your brain don’t play!
SECTION 1 - Basic Rules

  1. The rules are there to keep NNF1 fair to all Players and help with administration
  2. You have a budget of $80 million
  3. Each player has to enter a Team or Teams to compete in NNF1
  4. Each Team is made up 5 components, each component has an NNF1 value in "dollars"
    • 3 drivers
    • 1 engine
    • 1 chassis
  5. NNF1 2012 is made up of ONE Championship in 2012 - no season long selection..
  6. Players can enter a maximum of two (2) teams in the Championship.
  7. New Players wanting to join after the season has started can enter at any time during the year and will start with the average current score.

SECTION 2 - Components, Values & Points system

  1. All components can only score once in a Grand Prix. This is a change from last season where the engine/chassis components could score twice in a GP.
  2. Each component has a value in dollars (Component Value) in keeping with recent performance. As the season goes on the values will be adjusted accordingly to performance in NNF1. For the first race the values will be taken from the previous championship (2011) and general feedback from the winter testing. They will self-adjust from there on. The higher the value the more expensive it is "buy" that component
  3. Entries not received by the deadline (before qualifying) will score equal to lowest points. Previous race entries may be re-used providing they meet the $80 million budget rule. NNF1 reserves the right to adjust entries that do not meet the $80m budget rule. In this instance the engine values are adjusted first, then the chassis value, then Driver 3 etc until the total reaches $80m budget.
  4. The points system will be as follows:
    Race: 1st to 10th  - as per F1 points
    Grid: 1st to 6th – as per old F1 points system 9/6/4/3/2/1
    Fastest lap 5 points
    1 point per lap finished

SECTION 4 – Other rules

    1. Changes to your teams can be made up until before (Aust EST) qualifying on the Saturday.
    2. Non-entries will be scored on the closest selection possible from your previous entry at NNF1’s discretion.
    3. There will be no joint winners of either pole position or race wins. The team with the highest individual component scores across their team will be declared the winner. This wont affect the overall outcome, just clarify the placing's for each round
    4. There will be a virtual floating trophy for the winner of the NNF1 World Championship (steeped in history mind you as NNF1 roots date back to the late 80’s.
    5. All results will be taken from the official FIA web site Formula1.com
    6. A reminder email will be sent to all participants to remind them to choose their teams before each GP. This email will probably be on the Sunday and Monday before the Grand Prix weekend. Please supply a valid email address. If your work address is not adequate just log onto Hotmail and use that. You can log on as your team for example - eg: therat@hotmail.com.
    7. New players can be verified by any NNF1 ‘Life Member’. You are an NNF1 Life Member if you are part of the original Supernews Editions or have an active role in the administration of NNF1. NNF1 Champions also qualify for Life Membership.
    8. In the case that a team are not allowed to score points but still race (as per McLaren Mercedes in 2007 who raced but had their points revoked), NNF1 players/teams will continue to score.
    9. In the case where a driver is replaced at short notice any selections will read as that previous driver and then be adjusted accordingly at the next race at NNF1’s discretion.
    10. In all matters, the decision of NNF1 is final, any drama's, complaints, whinges, hissy fits can be forwarded to the department of file 18 or the FIA. Check your points and if unsure if they are correct they can be re-checked. No dramas, we're not playing for sheep stations....

NAMING YOUR TEAM

  • Previous/current players are required to keep their names from previous championship. No duplicate teams please. Eg: Mosley GP Team 1&2. This is really for administration purposes and makes it easier to keep track of each team.

HOW TO PLAY

  • The Championship (two teams allowed) - you need to re-enter your teams for each GP.

So to start, give your teams a name (keep it clean) and then send them through to NNF1 (via email) with the email address you would prefer to contacted on.
To play before each race, check the Component Values and scores under the NNF1 System button and enter a team by emailing to NNF1 address or using the Excel (or relevant entry form) file on the "NNF1 Enter" button - the excel file (or relevant entry form) will be available a at the latest before 1st practice. NNF1 will remind you when to enter via an email.
The Component Scores are the scores of each component from the results in NNF1. The highest scoring component will be the most expensive to buy. For round one the Component Values are decided by the finishing order in the previous season, feedback from winter testing in Europe, NNF1’s take on he performance expectations of the teams and by general "feel" from years of watching F1 since Jody won in his Tyrrell on the best circuit ever made - the original Kyalami.
NNF1 is free to play since 2007 and for 2012
A typical entry from 2011 (Values are an example only)

CHANGES for 2012

  • Points positions for qualifying is old style F1 points (9,6,4,3,2,1) and race finish to mirror F1 (race) 1st to 10th.
  • Engines to drastically reduce in significance. Only the first engine in the result will score.
  • Chassis to have more significance than the engine
  • Drivers will score the majority of the points but perhaps
  • For 2012 all entries will come through the website or directly to therat@nevernever.net.au (still working on this...)
  • It is the aim for all NNF1 entries to submitted through the website in the future and hopefully for this to become part of an automated scoring system. This will enable NNF1 to grow and become a bigger part of the F1 culture. And take over the world.
