Raikkonen stumbles
Kimi and Ferrari's recent "stumble" in Spain - well reliability issues anyway, have thrown a twist into the rating's at NNF1 with Raikkonen a dead set bargain at $16M at the moment. With the rules as they are right now a DNF is always going to hit the relevant component hard. It will take either Massa/Hamilton or Alonso to DNF once to loose status very quickly - and become cheap!
Actually we could end up with someone like Heidfeld as the most expensive driver if he continues to finish well and the the current top three score a DNF.
Considering the current trend of teams (NNF1) tending to favor the manufacturers the future of NNF1 scoring may shift towards a three driver scenario (dispensing with the test driver) and a move for more budget and the increase of the manufacturers buy in prices. This should have the effect of of putting the drivers back in the drivers seat and increasing the interest in the game.
